A few years ago and I mean only a few 2 and 1/2 when out with the lads for a quart or 2 the subject would be the new whatever car or the new whatever phone. Even walking down the street I'd be think "oh thats a automatic" or "that's a v8"
Now it's " Can you recommend a play school" or " look at that travel system" I know your priorities change but your interests as well? Ok I still admire the yummy mummies or the yummy females just a male radar thing. I remember years ago the topic of conversation would all be boy stuff and I was a complete petrol head love cars. I now have a boring diesel estate. Is this the same for everyone? |

a travel system is a type of gadget so your are ok with that one, I feel your pain, been there changed the nappy, doesn't stop you checking carzone and having a drool over that ford capri....
Funny, used to drive an Mits FTO though had to trade it in when the first wee one was born - broke my heart. Nowadays I park the peep carrier down the road from the school when I'm dropping off the eldest just to give the impression I'm driving something else!!! As parents we make sacrifices the minute they are born, but hey, wouldn't swop any of them now for a FTO, may be the.... ; ) In the words of four-time father Jon Bon Jovi: 'I may drive a mini-van but I will always be cool'. Yea, I think it's the same for us all. I used to drive a Vectra and now I drive my wife's car (when I'm allowed) or more than likely my bicycle. Way of the world...
